This is a magical place, you feel like you're away from everything while you're only a 20 mins drive from the beach and 30 minutes drive from Bilbao centre. Friendly, warm owners, HUGE family room, organic garden, farm animals and delicious breakfast with homemade cake. We were sad to leave.

The units will provide guests with a fridge. The photographs don't tell the whole story. This is a remarkable place, fully modern comfort, and of original character. The charm of the hosts, and other guests, created a wonderful atmosphere, making our brief stay a joy. We look forward to retuning for longer next time.

Ideally located in the Deusto district of Bilbao, Bilbao Akelarre Hostel is located 1.5 km from San Mamés Stadium, less than 1 km from Euskalduna Conference Centre and Concert Hall and 3.4 km from Calatrava Bridge. I really enjoyed my stay at Akelarre! The staff went out of their way to help me and were incredibly accommodating. The hostel itself was really clean and quiet in a really nice area with only 3 metro stops from the center. Cute main area and overall the best hostel experience I've had so far in Spain.

It’s clean and calm. Location is not in the city center but it doesn’t matter, you can reach there by bus. Its location brings quietness. One of the best hostel I’ve had ever!

Rooms are complete with a private bathroom fitted with a shower, the rooms at Albergue Usandi Auto Check-in have a flat-screen TV and air conditioning, and certain rooms are fitted with a balcony. All rooms will provide guests with a desk and a coffee machine. Excellent place to stay if doing the Camino Del Norte. It is about 100m just off Simon Bolibar Plaza in Ziortza-Bolibar (which is on the camino path). Never saw host as you self check in but they were very quick to respond and helpful when you message them. You are emailed the entry codes the day prior. Modern kitchen and living area with TV on ground floor. I had a 4 bed (2 × bunks) with own bathroom. Bed was comfortable and place was quiet through the night. Hot shower with good water pressure. Liquid hand soap provided. Linen was clean, and heating worked well. They have a credential stamp on the kitchen table. Used the correos service to have luggage transfered to and from and that went well. Had a very comfortable stay. Wifi worked well. There is quite a good Eroski supermarket in Markina across the road from the camino path- best to get groceries there as no store near accomodation and nothing else was open when I arrived and left (but I could see there were some food places but they weren't open). Some reviews mentioned getting food from vending machines at the accomodation but it only had a few drinks when I was there.

They were very well organized in getting pilgrims settled into their bunks. The kitchen was well stocked and there was plenty of space to hang wet laundry. Someone even made coffee in the morning and gave out small pastries.
