Clean. Comfortable. Affordable. The KI Dragonfly is a privately owned, quirky homestay located in Kingscote. You will feel relaxed and welcome the moment you step in the door. It's ideal for travellers looking for affordable accommodation without having to forgo the comforts and convenience of home. The main house has four bedrooms that are hired out separately: one twin room and three double rooms. Your hosts live on site and are available to help you plan your stay. ​The fully equipped kitchen, separate lounge and spacious bathrooms which are shared by guests. Laundry facilities are available for a fee, plus there is excellent wifi, and a selection of books by Kangaroo Island authors. There is ample space in our outdoor area for a BBQ, to chill out, read, relax. The patch of lawn is ideal for soaking up the sun, or for a game of Fiska or Bocce. Guests are welcome to help themselves to any herbs growing in the garden, and are encouraged to devour tomatoes, locuts, peaches and nectarines when in season. For couples or lone travellers who prefer their privacy, The Cubby House (a fully self contained cabin in the backyard) is the ideal room choice for you.

Susi & Bruno moved to Kangaroo Island from mainland South Australia in November 2016. We love it here and hope that you will too! Susi has a strong background in hospitality, tourism and events. Our Guesthouse is a mere five minute walk to shops, pubs, cafes and all Kingscote has to offer, you'll love the convenience. It is only a few minutes walk from the wharf precinct with beautiful fishing jetties (and seals lolling about from March through to November), and the saltwater swimming pool, and a short walk to the town's outskirts for a beautiful sunset & sightings of kangaroos and wallabies. For those who wish to experience the local cuisine & arts scene, there are many opportunities right at our doorstep: seafood, wine, handcrafted beer, spirits, restaurants and cafes, plus the Fine Art Gallery and the KI Art Society & Community Gallery. Kangaroo Island is much larger than most visitors anticipate. It is highly recommended that you plan a visit of at least 3-5 days (seven is ideal!) to give you plenty of time to explore the many beaches, nature reserves, and food, wine & art experiences on offer. A car is essential, as there is no public transport and while there are certainly tours, having the freedom to do you own thing and find secluded spots is the best way to explore this paradise!
