Stone's Throw Cottage B&B was born in 2007 after extensive renovations of an old workshop/shed on our Belgrave property. Fell in love with this 1917 house immediately!! So calm and relaxing the minute you walk through the gate. The garden shows up best in Spring and Autumn. But Winter and Summer are special too. We chose a modern country decor inside to keep with the country feel of the area. The outside is cream painted weatherboard with dark burgundy trim matching the main house. It's an open plan inside with large French doors opening out to a large outdoor space. Guests love the relaxing green garden views from every window. A continental breakfast is provided for you to put together yourselves and is included in your price. Cereals, muffins, waffles, peaches, yogurt, milk, butter, jams, spreads, OJ, teas and coffees. The kitchenette has a fridge, microwave, portable induction hotplate. electric frying pan, coffee pod machine, kettle & toaster. No oven. Although it's not a full kitchen it's a decent size to put together a meal. Our laundry is outside and is available for a small charge. We are walking distance from Belgrave train station. So, you can come out from Melbourne by train. Also, we are close to a very popular steam train called Puffing Billy. Lovely restaurants close by. The wild birds in this neighborhood are plentiful. Cockatoos, King Parrots & Crimson Rosellas to name a few. Then you may get a visit from one of our friendly possums who live in the possum boxes provided in the backyard trees!

We love being B&B hosts and enjoy meeting each and every guest and hearing about lives and travel stories. I've lived overseas for many years, always planning a new adventure, and always happy to come home to Belgrave.

People come to Belgrave from all over the world to mostly visit the Puffing Billy steam train. They soon realize there's much more. Wonderful restaurants... Cognoscenti, Tacos 'n' Tequilas (Mexican), Babaji's (South Indian), Earthly Pleasures Cafe, Micawber Tavern, Puffing Billy Cafe, Belgrave Bakery are my favorites. Then there's Japanese, Vietnamese, Chinese, Italian as well. Something for everyone. It's a very quiet neighborhood. Also, we have a very community-oriented town with lots of markets, nature walks, fun runs and festivals throughout the year.
