Sian and Peter West are Principals of Ocean Blue Coastal Retreats and discovered the Mornington Peninsula in 2004 when purchasing a holiday home as an investment. In 2006, Blue Moon Cottages was purchased and a group of four cottages formed the core of the business. Since then, more accommodation was added and we now have a portfolio of more than 40 properties. Their Mornington Peninsula knowledge comes from living on the peninsula since 2008, and working closely with Tourism Victoria and Mornington Peninsula Tourism has built an award-winning tourism business. They are both “hands on” in the business ensuring both guests and owners are provided with attention to detail at every level.

Longer stay discounts available for direct bookings. this original 1960s weatherboard cottage is the perfect location to leave the car in the driveway and walk to everything! With the beach on your doorstep you can walk the whole family to the safe bayside beach for long summer days of sunbaking and swimming in the ocean. Walk into this original home and escape into a cosy cottage beautifully decorated with a modern facilities but a sense of days gone by. The Seaside Cobbler theme is evident in the artwork and decorations giving this space a romantic feel. For lovers in love the four poster bed is the perfect dreamy space. The enclosed garden has a shady dining area, cosy firepit, festoon lights and an outdoor spa. You can even bring your dog with you to share this rustic escape by the beach. Included in your package is a bottle of sparkling wine and small local produce hamper for you to enjoy. Security Cameras are positioned on front of the house directed at the garden and street and a camera on the garage directed at the driveway. These cameras are actively recording during your stay. PAWfect What fun! a new house to visit that lets four-legged friends like me sleep inside. Yay! a garden with tall fences to keep me safe. The gate is also lockable so I feel safe when my hoomans go out and leave me. And there's a special basket just for me. No way! What's in there? Ooh, ooh! a treat from PAWDINKUM. I LOVE THIS PLACE.

Neighbourhood information

This property is situated right in the township of Rye, within only a few steps of restaurants, shops and the beach. Walk to Rye Pier snorkel the Octopus Garden or hop in the car and head for the divine Peninsula Hot Springs. Only a short drive away. Own transport is recommended but there is always the option of Uber or Taxi services.

Please note that there is a 1.7% charge when you pay with a Visa or MasterCard and 3.42% for American Express. A 50% deposit needs to be paid within 48 hours of booking, and the balance at least 30 days in advance of the arrival date via credit card into the secure guest portal we provide or via BPAY. We will also require your direct email address, a photo of you holding your photo ID and a list of guest names and ages to be uploaded into the guest portal before your booking can be confirmed. Guests will receive our full terms and conditions upon booking and payment of monies will constitute agreement to these terms and conditions.
