Enjoy the fresh air, wide open spaces, character and charm of our lovely country farm-stay in the historical town of York, just over an hour from the bright lights o Perth. Families, couples and groups can cosy up in one of our three self-contained cottages or if you are looking for a little more luxury, try our large Country House. All are self-contained with their own living quarters, kitchen and outdoor areas that overlook the paddocks. while there is plenty to do around the property, with a games room, children's activities, animals, playgrounds, dog exercise area, spa and tennis court- we encourage our visitors to take in the history, nature and buildings of York and the surrounding Avon Valley.
we have always been animal lovers but found beyond our beloved pets at home, our busy work lives didn't always allow for us to follow our dream of owning a property like York Cottages and Burnely House. We acquired the property in early 2020 and have loved making it our own by creating a special welcoming space for families, couples and groups to enjoy. Children and pets are most welcome and we aim to continue to expand and grow the activities we offer our guests over the next few years. Come join us to relax and take a breath of fresh country air.
York is lined with stunning Victorian and Federation buildings, tourist attractions, parks, pubs, playgrounds, museums, the famous lolly shop and sock factory to name a few. The town hall is one of the most recognisable buildings, standing at one end of the main street with the clock tower overseeing its daily duties. York's close proximity to Perth (just over an hours drive) - makes it a bustling hub on the weekends and for many community events held throughout the year. some of which include The York Art & Craft Awards, York Antiques and Collectors fair, Jazz festival, Garden Festival and the always popular Classic & Vintage Motor Vehicles. A few minutes drive up the hill from town is the Mount Brown Lookout where you can take in views of the whole town and look out towards the surrounding regions.
