Our holiday house is located only 200 m from Alpirsbach train station on a quiet, panoramic place in Krähenbad-Street - a vast property with garden and forest. Therefore our cottage is easily accessible by public transport. From the terrace you can enjoy the view to the Kinzig valley. Due to the proximity and our private connections to France, we call the house "Le Bain du Corbeau" - translated from German Krähenbad. We are supplied by renewable energies since autumn 2023.
Welcome to Alpirsbach. A small visitor’s tax is charged for your stay - on the other hand with your visitor’s card the use of buses and trains in the Black Forest is unlimited and free of charge. Due to the favorable location of our house, there are numerous excursions possible from Alpirsbach train station. For the tourist tax, I need the date of birth, ID number, license plate number, address and nationality of all guests before their arrival, since I have to print out the tourist cards on document paper. Unfortunately, I can not issue tourist cards on site when you arrive.
Our house is in the middle of the Black Forest Nature Park. The 1000-year-old Alpirsbach monastery, the famous Alpirsbacher Klosterbräu brewery, the Kinzigtal Valley cycle path, the Kinzigtal trail, the Vogtsbauernhof open-air museum, the Triberg waterfalls, Freudenstadt, the panoramic road Schwarzwaldhochstrasse, small romantic towns like Gengenbach, Strasbourg in France, Germany’s biggest amusement park Europapark, the Black Forest capital Freiburg, the famous spa Baden-Baden - everything is accessible even by public transport! The famous Black Forest railway from Offenburg to St.Georgen is only a stone's throw away. In 2023 the mountain tracks will celebrate their 150th birthday! With its numerous viaducts and tunnels, it was a model for the Swiss Gotthard Railway! More tips: combine bike, train and our cycle path along the Kinzig river - the train always brings you back to our house. Equally attractive is the hike on the rafters trail from Lossburg via Alpirsbach to Wolfach. In the old days, raftsmen shipped the Black Forest firs to Holland via the Kinzig and the Rhine. Today rafting is an intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO.
