What an amazing old rustic house, it was like going back 300 years in a time machine. I didn’t miss the water or electricity one bit, there was just the tick-tock of the old wall clock and the oil lamps to light up the evenings.

Thurup Hus is a truly unique experience, offering a taste of what it was like to live in a Danish farmhouse in the 1800's (without the hard work). The main house is beautifully preserved and authentic.

Beautifull, very special place to stay. Highly authentic. Nothing has been modernised in the main house for 100 years. That is something special in this day and age. There is a good outhouse with toilet and shower, but in the main building it’s...

I can not give less than 10 out of 10. The Hostess, Karen, really managed to revive this beautiful house, the workshop of the local painter who lived there, and everything else looks authentic, like a museum. It was a true privilege to stay here...

Meget autentisk 1800-tals oplevelse .. med moderne bekvemmeligheder i den udstrækning man ville bruge dem 😊 Der var stille og stjerneklart om natten. Et perfekt sted at komme lidt væk fra hverdagen.

19th century house with wood burning stove, open fireplace and lighting with kerosene lamps. You will live completely like the adventures of adventure writer H. C. Andersen and get an authentic experience of the old days. Here you can get close to each other, relax and have a candle. There are two living rooms. The upper living room is with 2 alcoves, where guests also sleep. In addition, space for 2-3 beds as needed. Thurup Hus used to be an artist residence, but today it is restored and preserved for the future. On site, artist Børge Thurup's former studio can be seen and used.
The host welcomes and gives a thorough introduction to how to use the fireplaces and kerosene lamps. The information about Thurup House typically takes 1 hour, because there are so many exciting things to tell about the background of Thurup House. Thurup House is best suited for 2 adults with up to 3 children, but it is also possible to be four adults.
