Property information
Jean's Home is a charming and cozy guest house nestled in a peaceful neighbourhood, surrounded by nature and very close to the beach.
It consists of:
1) One larger house with three ample bedrooms, a living room and a fully equipped kitchen with dining area. The bedrooms all have a private bathroom and air conditioning.
2) A small single-room house ("bungalow") with a private bathroom and a small kitchen. It has ample ventilation and a fan.
The guest house was origially built in the 70's by an early settler and although it has been completely renovated it still maintains it's original charm.
The property has a beautiful lush garden and the ambience is very peaceful.
We provide daily cleaning service and drinking water. Bathrooms are always stocked with soap and fresh towels.
We do not provide laundry service, but we do have an area where guests can wash or rinse out clothing items by hand and hang them up to dry in the fresh air.
There are two elderly rescued cats that inhabit the garden and outside areas. Their names are Pinta and Richard Parker. The cats are fully taken care of and fed by the owner and staff. They are both friendly, but do not bother the guests.
Neighbourhood information
The neighbourhood is called "Barrio Punta Estrada" and is one of the most exclusive areas in the main town because of it's location and layout.
It is the only neighbourhood that is not connected to the main town with a road and all paths are exclusively pedestrian, which creates a peaceful and quiet environment.
Instead of cars, people use water-taxis to travel to and from the main town area. These are small boats that take passengers across the bay for a small fee and are available 24/7. The ride is quite enjoyable and usually takes around 5 minutes.
The neighbourhood has been mantained as natural as possible, with a saltwater lagoon surrounded by mangroves and a beach known as "Playa de los Alemanes". The beach is less than 5 minutes walking distance from the property and can be visited any time without the need of a guide.
Another nearby attraction is "Las Grietas" , a natural canyon-type formation filled with brakish water and ideal for swimming. This place can be visited with organized tours.
The neighbourhood also has a few restaurants and other places like supermarkets, atms, pharmacies, etc are only a short water-taxi ride away.
