La zona nos encantó. No vimos un incendio cerca, pero sufrimos el olor y el humo. Recibimos una alarma a pesar de no estar el incendio cerca. El dueño de la casa muy amable y muy pendiente de nosotros, por la situación de la provincia.

This is a unique and wonderfully renovated house in a very small mountain village in Galicia. There are very few people left in this almost deserted village but that was an amazing experience to be in such a quiet, serene place close to nature....

A midsummer dream This is probably the best way to describe how A Casa da Eira saw the light. It just happened that once again we were combing the villages of the Riberira Sacra area when suddenly we found the house which, in the future, would be our bed&breakfast. Or should we better say the house found us. Immediately we were captivated by its long chestnut-wood balcony, its sand-coloured granite stone walls and the situation of the village at the upper part of the River Sil Canyon. It only took us one night to decide that this would be the place where we wanted to start our new life project. And it has been since 2001 that we have been sharing it with all our visitors.
We love hill walking and we thank the English language for this phantastic expression. Galicia is not mountainous (or at least not in its major part), it is hilly through and through. And it's the perfect place to do hill walking getting to know its unspoilt nature, its rich historic heritage, its wildlife and the silence.
Albergueria is a very small village with only a couple of neighbours left during winter and a couple more during the holiday periods. The village is set at the higher part of the river Sil Canyon just equidistant from two of the most impressive natural viewpoints over the Canyon: Pé de Home and the Vilouxe viewpoint (Albarellos). We love to go to "Pé de Home" (30min walk), we call it our sunset viewpoint, from where one can enjoy a spectacular view over the Sil Canyon. We also love the see the sunset from the village when the stones of the Canyon turn between purple and orange reflecting the last rays of sunlight.
