The Mr. Serrano Apartment is in a recently restored Modernista building on the city’s main avenue, the emblematic Passeig de Gràcia. In one direction you’ll find the best shops in Barcelona with the latest in fashion and jewelry, two of the most fascinating buildings by Antoni Gaudí, Casa Milà (La Pedrera) and Casa Batlló, the “Cuadrado de Oro” (the area of the Eixample with the greatest concentration of Modernista houses), and at the end of Passeig de Gràcia you’ll encounter Plaça Catalunya, the nerve center of the city. In the other direction the apartment borders on the bohemian barrio of Gràcia, where you’ll find many charming restaurants, theaters, cinemas showing films in their original version, and a bustling nightlife.

The Passeig de Gràcia, Barcelona’s most elegant avenue. Until now only the part of the so-called “Jardinets de Gràcia” (the Passeig de Gràcia between the Diagonal street and Carrer Seneca) has been refurbished. All the old tiles have been removed and replaced by reproductions of the original hexagonal shaped tile designed by Antoni Gaudí in 1904. Gracia is located just a few steps of Passeig de Gracia, but it is like entering a different world that is small, tight but has a large population with true artistic and traditional lifestyles, which makes people-watching here very amusing. From buildings and streets to plazas, many things in Gracia are on a smaller scale than those in the center of town. It is said that Gracia is self-sufficient, which means once you stay here, you don’t need to leave because the area has everything you want: great bars, cafes, lovely restaurants, fashion stores, art galleries, cinema,…
