I like:- bird watching, particularly the woodpeckers and hoopoes that frequent the property; savouring local foie grass; bread; cheese; pastries; solitude, enjoying a true getaway in the wooded seclusion of a home with no near neighbours, but close to farmers markets, & visitor attractions. I like canoeing down the Dordogne river, picnics on the shores, dining alfresco, and swimming in the 10M x 5 M secluded pool.
This an ancient land full of charm & character, which goes back to the beginning of time, when cavemen painted the walls of caves 35,000 years ago. It is a land of rivers, gorges, wooded hills and historic towns. The bastide (fortified) town of Domme has changed little over the last 500 years & shows how life used to be. This is a land of castles & chateau, wine, cheese, bread, & pate. A land of ambiance & style, a place to see & be seen. This, is Dordogne, France at its best.
