Property information

Tastefully renovated, detached 1970s house 10 minutes from Semur-en-Auxois. Raised ground floor: entrance hall, separate fitted kitchen, large living room/lounge (fireplace), 2 bedrooms (queen-size bed) (queen-size bed, sofa bed), shower room, separate WC. Cot & high chair available. Little fenced garden around house. Included in rent: oil-fired heating, provision of bed linen, cleaning at end of stay. Firewood: 15€/basket. Facing gîte (on other side of quiet little road) large fenced garden (outdoor furniture, BBQ, deckchairs). Parking. Owners run regional produce shop in Semur and will be happy to introduce you to local specialities. On request: beauty treatment and plantar reflexology (foot massage) provided by lady owner (book and pay on-site).|Medieval town of Semur has preserved many traces of its rich history: fortified gates, ramparts, castle keep, steep alleyways leading down to banks of river Armançon – all well worth a visit by day or night. Don't miss: collegiate church of Notre-Dame, museum, Orle d'Or tower. Nearby: châteaux of Epoisses, Bourbilly and Bussy-Rabutin, Alésia MuséoParc, Fontenay Abbey (UNESCO World Heritage site), Flavigny-sur-Ozerain (classed as one of the loveliest villages in France). Pont lake: beach, water-based games. 320km of hiking and discovery trails in the area. Le Roi Chaussé medieval fair and Fête de la Bague in June.
