## The neighborhood L'Écusson is the historic center of Montpellier characterized by its outline in the shape of an old French shield, close to a pentagon. The surrounding boulevards are located on the sites of the medieval moats which lined the main city wall. ## Getting around Everything is done on foot! The Comédie stop tram can take you to the beaches and Odysseum (shopping center) and the surrounding villages (Lattes, Castelnau le lez, St Jean de Védas, etc.)
