A perfect location for exploring North Wales. Beautiful historic cottage, fantastic view, all necessary facilities. We were regularly visited by two white horses in the adjoining field, and there’s a castle just across the road. It was great for...

The cottage is in a great location and it is not often you get to stay somewhere that has it's history proudly engraved on the side wall. It was very comfortable and spacious with a well equipped kitchen. Lots of outdoor garden space too.

Bursting with history, this unique and lovely semi-detached grade II listed cottage was the birthplace of John Jones Tanysarn, a renowned Methodist Calvinist preacher. It has a traditional kitchen/dining room with a slate floor and a woodburner, and a lovely inglenook open fire in the living room. It has a large, enclosed garden with views across the Lledr valley. Travel cot and high chair on request. 32" smart TV. DVD player and films. CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Freezer. Wi-fi.
We are a local Welsh speaking family - Dylan, Carys and Llywelyn - who are hugely proud to be the first owners on both cottages for over a century. We love travelling and meeting travellers and love exchanging stories and information with guests from all corners of the world.
Dolwyddelan is a small village of around 200 residents 4 miles from Betws y Coed. It has a pub and hotel serving bar meals. Dolwyddelan Castle, built by Llywelyn the Great is located across the road from the cottage offering superb 360 degree views from the flat roof which is accessible. There are plenty of walks in the area, with the village pub and shop about a mile away. Thrill seekers will love the facilities in nearby Blaenau Ffestiniog, where you can bounce on huge nets in an underground slate cavern, whizz through the air on Europe’s longest zipwire or try your hand at the Antur Stiniog’s Downhill Mountain Bike Trail. From Blaenau, the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways will take you on an unforgettable journey with stunning views down to the coast at Porthmadog and beyond to Caernarfon. In the other direction, the pretty village of Betws-y-Coed, the gateway and hub to Snowdonia, has a great choice of cafes and restaurants, and outdoor pursuit shops abound. Beach 15 miles at Black Rocks near Porthmadog or 20 miles away at Harlech. Shop and pub serving food 1 mile.
