Property information

Take it easy at this unique and cosy cottage with a real open fire and original beams. The cottage was constructed in approximately 1750 during the reign of George II. The cottage is constructed from wood and stone and there is not a straight wall, ceiling or door casing in the house! You learn very fast (after banging your head once or twice) to duck under the low door frames and beams. The cottage is small, quirky and very cosy but with a suprisingly large master bedroom and bathroom.

Neighbourhood information

Situated in the historic village of Up Holland which has references in the Doomsday Book of 1086. The cottage backs onto the graveyard of St Thomas Church which was constructed in 1307 and is the resting place of the famous highwayman George Lyon. The home is only a few minutes drive from the M6 and M58 motorways so has great access links to Manchester and Liverpool. Close to motorways M6, M62, M58 and A580 to both Manchester and Liverpool, Retail Outlets and Haydock Park Racecourse and Orrell Railway Station, Pennington Flash ( Bolton Triathlon), Leigh Sports Village - Football/Rugby/ Man Utd Ladies FC. Also within easy distance of Chester, Lake District and North Wales
