The property was a good size for a cottage and the instructions were really clear about how to get in.

Perfect location for our intended activities. Quirky house which is to be expected with a property of this age.

Loved this amazing quaint little cottage. Equipped with everything you could possibly need. Nice and warm and cosy as the weather dropped to icy cold on New Yrs Day. Nice little xmassy touches made it feel even more special and we actually wished...

Great location. Perfect for us in a week where all we wanted to do was take dog out for walks and watch the Olympics. Cromford is not big but again had everything that we needed

Built in 1778, the Arkwright Cottages of Cromford hold a unique place in the history of what is considered the birthplace of the industrial revolution, now a World Heritage Site. Huge efforts have been made locally to preserve historical attributes, and this grade 2 listed cottage is part of that rich history. The back door gives access to Rose End Wildlife Sanctuary, as well as the beautiful village with duck pond, canal, and Mill buildings repurposed to showcase local entrepreneurs.
We live a few minute's walk away and can be contacted by phone. We have a second property at our home which - availability permitting - can be booked in conjunction with the cottage.
Cromford hill is a lively thoroughfare with the lovely village of Cromford - complete with duck pond and world famous bookshop - at its base and the equally lovely and lively Wirksworth at the top. The cottage is two minutes walk from the Rose End nature reserve and five minutes walk from the High Peak Trail and Black Rocks. Chatsworth house is a twenty minute drive, and Bakewell a half hour away. The Heights of Abraham and Matlock Bath are other local attractions.
