As we both have very demanding jobs, the location was excellent for us to take time out and relax. It was great just waking up to peace and quiet in a beautiful cottage (and not to an alarm clock going off). The views all around were lovely....

This cottage is in a very quiet place, which suited us perfectly. The hosts live next door, they are not in your face, but there if you need them, they are very friendly and helpful. They have done as much as they can to make this cottage a nice...

We're very lucky to live in a beautiful, peaceful corner of Herefordshire Our cosy one bedroom cottage is available all year round for romantic, peaceful breaks. Its completely self-contained with a king sized bed, Netflix, a settee for being lazy, a kitchen with everything you need to make toast or a Sunday roast, and a stylish shower room. There is a terrace with Adirondack chairs for a glass of wine on a sunny evening. We don't allow pets I'm afraid. We have hedging and open farm land around us so we aren't dog secure - plus we have our own cats, poultry, sheep and pigs so we don't feel it's fair on pet owners to have to keep such a tight watch on their animals.
We're always very pleased with the number of guests who return to stay for a second, third or even fifth time! It means we must be getting something right! Although our location has an awful lot to do with it - we live in nearly four acres of Herefordshire countryside and we're surrounded by farmland. We keep chickens and ducks and often have pigs. We also have two cats - Holmes and Charlie - who love to show off by trying to catch flying insects and climbing the hay bales!
We actively encourage our guests to just sit back and relax! We aren't on the normal tourist trail but Herefordshire is a wonderfully underpopulated county which makes the pace of life slower. Thats not to say its sleepy and boring! There is lots to do if you feel energetic - walking along Offas Dyke, the Malverns or the Clee Hills, the River Wye for canoeing, cider making, endless fantastic places to eat, Ludlow with its food festivals, Hay Literary Festival, the Black & White Trail.....we could go on! We're full of ideas and always happy to recommend places to go.
