Very clean. Carpets spotless. Staff nice. Pleasant. Engaging. Breakfast very good. Room itself, although spotlessly clean with good carpet and comfy single bed felt grossly overpriced, more especially given that it was tiny with a shared bathroom...

Company info

Ardvane B&B is run by Cor Smith. I was born and raised on a hill sheep farm not far from Pitlochry. I ended up working all over the world, first in technology, then as a fishing guide in West Africa and the Seychelles archipelago. I've come back to where I grew up, to raise my daughter in this wonderful friendly, active, outdoor community. Our aim at Ardvane is to blend traditional rural atmosphere with modern technology and offer you great quality, convenience and a flavour of our local community spirit. We practice continuous incremental improvement and genuinley welcome your ideas and feedback as to how we can improve.

Property info

Ardvane Bed & Breakfast is an historic Victorian villa (circa 1900) situated in the middle of Pitlochry on a very quiet residential street just 5mins walk from the bustling centre of town. Situated on the gentle slopes rising out of Pitlochry centre Ardvane has pretty views, catching the sun all day, which can be enjoyed from most of rooms, the breakfast conservatory and the outdoor patio. Inside, our rooms are equipped with fast free wifi, TVs and tea/coffee making facilities. We also offer our guests complimentary barista quality coffee, tea and cold drinks 24hrs a day in the breakfast lounge. Our breakfast consists of a buffet continental (with fresh croissants, cheese, cold cuts, yoghurts and fruit juices) and a full "cooked to order" Scottish (thick cut local bacon, juicy butcher made pork sausages, black pudding, beans, toast and eggs however you like them). All washed down with a range of teas, cold drinks and the latest Nespresso coffee. (we serve espresso shots, latte, americano, french press).

Neighborhood info

Ardvane is a perfect base for exploring the local area. There is so much to do. Lots of hiking, hills and pretty glens. Also plenty of mountain biking, river rafting, golf etc. For older members of the group there's lots of cafes in Pitlochry, the high street is only a 5 mins walk from the house. There's also some great attractions, such as Pitlochry Dam and fish ladder, Edradour Distillery, Blair Castle, The House of Bruar and Highland Safaris, all within a 30 mins drive. There are great places to eat and drink. Escape Route Cafe, Victorias, Mackays Fish & Chips, The Old Mill, Moulin Inn. For a five star bar with a good view try Fonab Castle Hotel. Edinburgh is 90mins drive, Cairngorm National Park is 60mins North and Ben Nevis 90mins. The whole area is very friendly with lots of things going on, ask in local cafes about stuff that's happening. Please don't hesitate to ask us if you need suggestions for things to do or help with finding local businesses and activities
