The location met our needs , walkable distance into town. Having the continental breakfast left outside our door also worked well for us.

Perfectly situated for exploring the countryside where there is plenty to see and do. One mile from Pocklington, nestling on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds. Ashfield has two bedrooms with T.V., hairdryers, iron/board and tea/coffee facilities. On rainy days for walkers and cyclists, we can dry their wet clothes. Built in 1907 the house features a lovely tiled entrance laid by Italians who came over each year to work. The house was once part of a small farmstead and still has some buildings from those days. There is plenty of parking for visitors cars.
We have been welcoming guests to our house for nearly thirty years. David and Kay have been involved with all aspects of the faming industry, now Kay is busy as County Councillor, Magistrate and Duty Manager at the local Arts Centre. Kay has been Mayor of Pocklington three times and Chairman of the East Riding of Yorkshire Council. David is now a Landscape Gardener and is involved in the local History Club. Both are busy with a new venture - Glamping Pods, which has been very successful.
Numerous walks and quiet cycle rides for everyone's enjoyment. There is a scenic drive from Pocklington which takes you across the quiet and beautiful Yorkshire Wolds. Historic Pocklington is known for the last place in England to burn a witch at the stake and the superb Burnby Hall Gardens which have the best water lilies in Europe. The World famous Pocklington Arts Centre houses a cinema and theatre which shows the latest films and famous acts. In the area every sport enthusiast is catered for - from Polo to swimming.
