Broom House at Egton Bridge is the family run bed and breakfast located 7 miles outside of Whitby. The beautiful country house is ideally located in the North York Moors National Park, making it the perfect base to explore the countryside, charming coastal villages and beyond!
Our guest room, Rom Six, is located on the 2nd floor in the attic offering stunning views over the garden and beyond. Additionally, Room Six offers a bath only.

While we live onsite with our daughter and two Cockapoos, we don’t share any of the communal spaces with you. The breakfast room is spacious with doors opening onto the expansive garden. The guest lounge is cosy, boasting an open fire, board games and an honesty bar so you can relax after a busy day. Our beautiful, private garden provides a welcome refuge from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Cattle may peacefully poke their heads over the fence, while the gardens brim with berries and lettuces for breakfast and packed lunches.
Native to North Yorkshire, Luke grew up in the hospitality industry in his family’s hotel in the beautiful village of Sandsend. He met his wife, Brianne, who grew up in the States, working at a premier ski destination in Utah. They moved to Loch Lomond, Scotland, in 2013 where they worked for nearly 7 years at an exclusive use venue. After their time in Scotland, the couple decided to relocate to North Yorkshire to be closer to family and bought Broom House in December 2019.
Broom House is nestled in the Esk Valley, only 3/4 mile from the Egton train station. Despite its rural location, Broom House has access to award-winning restaurants and charming country pubs. In this area, there is something for everyone. Whether you enjoy walks on the beach, cycling some routes that were part of the Tour de Yorkshire or scenic drives, you will not be short of activities to do.
