Captain's Rest is located on the outskirts of Dunvegan, Isle of Skye. It is a newly built, exceptionally spacious cottage which has been finished to the highest standards. This is a place to kick back in the utmost comfort and relax and enjoy the property. Features include an indoor sauna and outdoor adjacent hot tub. Bespoke Harris Tweed soft furnishings are to be found in the bedrooms in colours to blend in with the landscape outside. There is a Bose smart speaker in the kitchen for your enjoyment. The property enjoys one of the most breath taking views on the island, looking out to sea and to the majestic Cuillin Hills mountains and beyond to the outer isles in the distance. It is a half hour drive to the island's capital of Portree when you wish to explore the 'big city' and in Dunvegan itself, which is only 5 minutes away, you will find a few restaurants, local grocery shop and art galleries to while away your time. Captain’s Rest was awarded ‘Lux Life Magazine Retreats and Resorts - Best Luxury Self Catering 2023 - Isle of Skye’. Captain's Rest is perfect for your romantic getaway, a family holiday or travel with friends or family for a well earned catch-up break. Please note property is available for weekly rental with a Saturday arrival date although stays of minimum of 4 nights may be available during low season.
Welcome to Captain's Rest, Isle of Skye. This has been a 4 year project of love for my husband and I and now we are delighted to be able to share this with our guests. Our aim is to ensure you enjoy your stay there and if there is anything we can assist with, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Captain's Rest is situated in the small, rural township of Roag, just on the outskirts of Dunvegan. It is a perfect base to explore the Isle of Skye. Dunvegan Castle and Gardens, home of the MacLeod Clan is located in the village of Dunvegan and worth a visit. There are plenty of local hikes to enjoy and even more further afield. Guests enjoy the cottage due to the privacy and sereneness it benefits from, whilst not being too far from the island's attractions. They marvel at the views, particularly attractive whilst relaxing in the hot tub with a glass of something fizzy or sitting outside on a nice day on the garden furniture provided.
