THIS luxurious two-bedroom boutique duplex apartment offers a sumptuous living space 2 miles from Newcastle city centre. Old meets new in this Victorian terraced building - the heritage of this century-old Tyneside flat has been lovingly recreated, but with a modern twist. Our apartment, named Docker's Digs, has been designed and decorated to reflect the industrial heritage of the North East. We have completed a sympathetic restoration of this Victorian building, with exposed colliery brick, oak panelling, and revitalised heritage furniture coupled with unique hand-made pieces. We provide luxury mattresses and towels and Egyptian cotton white bed linen. We want every minute of your stay to be in a memorable and comfortable apartment. You will be provided with fresh towels, two pillows for each bed (firm and soft) and there is a private sink and mirror in both bedrooms. Hairdryer, iron, ironing board and vacuum cleaner are provided. There is a large double attic bedroom, a spacious twin room, a living room with electric stove, Smart TV and small open-plan kitchenette (with fridge, microwave with grill, kettle and toaster) and a fully-tiled bathroom with walk-in shower.

I am your host at Docker's Digs. I am a self-employed landlord and do-er up-er. I am a former sports journalist in my late 40s and now have two grown-up children. I am passionate about Newcastle and the North East, and passionate about property too. I have put my heart and soul into providing a lovely home-from-home at my two apartments - Coalminer's Cottage and Docker's Digs. I have stayed there myself with my family and love it. Our apartment is in Gateshead, just a mile from the A1 motorway and on the southern brink of the Tyneside urban area. Access to Docker's Digs is easy and parking is free - but with excellent regular bus services on the doorstep - and an Uber into the city costing around a fiver - there is no need to use your car from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. You are a stone’s throw from the beautiful Saltwell Park, known as ‘The People’s Park’ - with its boating lake, wooded areas and cafe, while the historic Little Theatre is just around the corner. You are less than two miles from Newcastle city centre, and even closer to the stunning Quayside, a shared jewel in Newcastle and Gateshead’s crown. Here you can visit the Baltic Arts centre, and the Sage music venue, and take a walk over the Millennium Bridge which spans the Tyne.
