Bourton lies within very easy reach from the A303 giving easy access from London or down to the west country. Nearby Shaftesbury is an interesting and historic town of Saxon origin, with attractions including Gold Hill, and Abbey Museum and Gardens. Compton Abbas Airfield is just 7 miles away and has views reaching for 30 miles and beyond; and it's the perfect place to have a flight experience, learn to fly or just enjoy a bite to eat amongst all the activity. The stunning National Trust owned Stourhead House, lake and gardens are only a 5 minute drive away. Longleat House and Safari Park can be reached by car within 20 minutes. The city of Salisbury with its cathedral, museums, shops and restaurants is 28 miles away. The iconic Stonehenge is a 23 mile drive away. Around an hour’s drive away is the stunning Jurassic Coast with the popular resorts of Lulworth, Kimmeridge, Weymouth and West Bay. Sherborne with its abbey and boasting two castles is only a 25 minute drive away. The county town of Dorchester with its Thomas Hardy heritage and fine museums is always worth a day out and is under an hour away.
