A Barn is a Unique Modern Country Retreat in the heart of the South Downs National Park. This timber barn conversion is full of wow factors, plus the added bonus of uniterrupted breathtaking views of the South Downs, Arundel Park and River Arun Valley. Local walks include the South Downs Way and Monarch's Way. It is a walker's paradise full of small villages, trails and paths from short strolls to long hikes. Celebrate the seasons with bird watch majic, a clear night sky sparkling with stars and abundant wildlife in a natural environment. We welcome you to come and see!
Our family have farmed in the village for eight generations since the 1700's. We rear beef cattle, many of which are the traditional Sussex Cattle with their distinctive dark red brown coats. They graze the riverside meadows in the drier months and overwinter on the chalk downland fields. Across the farm, which includes land in the Amberley Wildbrooks and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and Ramsar Site, we aim to enhance the natural environment, protect wildlife and promote biodiversity.
We have several local pubs, one is walking distance and others are short drives away in neighbouring villages. Local attractions include The Riverside Tea Gardens which provide boats on the River Arun and Amberley Museum, The historic town of Arundel with a Castle is 10 minutes by car and the county city of Chichester and the Sussex Coast are only 30-45 minutes away. There are many National Trust and privately owned historic houses nearby in addition to varied museums that capture the essence of Sussex heritage.
