The property was a beautiful cottage in a wonderful location. It was very clean and felt welcoming upon our arrival. There was plenty of space for us and our 2 large dogs to stretch out in.

Location was perfect for us in the middle of nowhere! Although once the steam train re-opens for the season, it would be a great place for getting out along the valley

In the heart of the North York Moors National Park and the International Dark Sky Reserve. We neighbour the heritage North Yorkshire Moors Railway at Levisham Station so you can see and Steam Trains. There are dozens of local footpaths waiting to be discovered, walk out and return by Train. SKELTON COTTAGE is a single storey home for 2 adults. The kitchen window affords lovely views across the grounds to the passing trains, The kitchen is equipped, The sitting room features a traditional stone fireplace and log burning stove. The bedroom has a King sized bed. Cottage occupancy is 2 people a sofabed for alternative sleeping arrangements. Bathroom with separate power shower. ROWNTREE COTTAGE is for 2 adults & is over 2 storeys. A log burning stove & dining table with 4 chairs. The kitchen is fully equipped. A stable door leads out onto a terrace. Upstairs a double bedroom with super King size bed or two singles sits under the eaves. Bathroom includes invigorating power shower over the full-size bath. BOTH COTTAGES have secure, free Wifi access to a high-speed broadband internet connection
I enjoy meeting new people, hearing about their lives, always listening carefully to their interests and in some small way try to enhance each and every stay by: suggesting a walk, book to read or a café to visit or an activity to experience. I am a Beekeeper and have been keeping Honey Bees for five years. In this time the Grove House Apiary has grown to seven hives. I process all my own honey which simply means it is spun out from the comb, filtered and jarred – so my honey is as pure and as raw as the Grove House bees intended. Our artisan honey with unique bouquet is available for sale
Ideal for Steam Train Enthusiasts, Nature lovers, Astronomers, Artists, Cyclist & Walkers. Grove House, Levisham is next to the heritage North Yorkshire Moors Railway at Levisham Station. From the Holiday Cottages you can see, hear, smell and feel the Steam Trains rubble into the station. It’s the crossing point on the line so locomotives wait, often blowing off steam with mighty force; coal on shovel is heard as the fire is stoked; Drivers with oily rags wipe down whilst, Signalmen and Guards chat, Visitors wait standing to be the first to herald the sound of whistles and echoing sound steam in this canyon valley. We are one of the best places in the UK to practice Astronomy, come see the ‘Milky Way’ or simply stargaze in wonderment. Newtondale Canyon carves through the moorland plateau, leaving a spectacular landscape of open heather moorland, wooded hillsides and lush wildflower meadows. The habitats encourage Birds to visit the garden and ponds. On walks listen out for the Curlews Turtle Doves and watch the skies for Merlin and Peregrines. In Summer there are Butterflies and Pollinators to be observed and in Autumn an array of Fungi can be explored on the Moor.
