Ashburton is a lively historical town nestled on the southern side of the vast Dartmoor National Park. The high street is home to many galleries, book shops and a variety of eateries as well as boasting lots of great antique shops making it the perfect place to while away a few hours. There are delicious eateries in Ashburton such as Emilia, Old Exeter Inn, Furzeleigh Mill, Dartmoor Lodge .
Be sure to visit Devon's historic and National trust properties such as; Castle Drogo, Exeter Cathedral, Buckfast Abbey, Powderham Castle at Exeter, Knightshayes Court at Tiverton and Tiverton Castle at Tiverton.
Dartmoor National Park is popular year round for horse riding, climbing, cycling and mountain biking, with routes including the West Devon Way, Granite Way and Two Castles Trail to explore.
For families with younger children, be sure to visit Pennywell Farm, Dartmoor Otter Sanctuary , Buckfast Butterfly Farm, Totnes Rare Breeds Farm, Woodlands Family Theme Park.
