Looking for a different kind of UK break? Glamping Hideaways has a unique collection of glamping locations throughout the UK, from shepherd’s huts and lodges to yurts and safari tents. If you’re looking for a way to get back to nature, enjoy some fresh air and unplug for a few days, then we have your perfect holiday ready and waiting.

Property information

Kittisford Barton is situated in the picturesque rolling hills of Somerset. The site features five individual safari tents: Kingfisher, Woodpecker, Nuthatch, Treecreeper, and Woodcock, each accommodating up to six guests. You have the option to book the entire site or select any of the five individual tents. Kittisford Barton is an ideal destination for a family getaway. You can relax in one of the spacious safari tents, each fully equipped with a cosy wood-burning stove, hot running water, and comfortable bedrooms. Additionally, there is an option to add a hot tub for extra relaxation.

Neighbourhood information

The site is just half an hour west of Taunton and only ten minutes from the M5, making it easily accessible. Once you arrive, the glamping site itself is located on a working organic farm. There are two pubs in close proximity to the Lantern and Larks site; The Holywell and The White Hart. If you decide to leave the site, there’s plenty to discover within easy reach of Kittisford Barton. Taunton and Exeter are both an easy drive away and offer a fantastic range of retail centres, independent shops, supermarkets, pubs, restaurants and attractions. If a day at the beach is more your thing, you’re less than an hour from the golden sands of Minehead or the natural haven on Bridgwater Bay National Nature Reserve. For those looking to experience some history during your stay, make sure to pay a visit to Cleeve Abbey, which is over 800 years old. Cothay Manor Historic House and Gardens is another nearby historic gem, set within 12 acres of atmospheric medieval-style gardens beside the river Tone. If you’re visiting with little ones, don’t miss Longleat safari park and Crealy Theme Park, both of which are sure to provide hours of family fun. Up the hill from the Lantern and Larks site, you’ll find Langford Heathfield - Somerset Wildlife Trust’s second largest nature reserve. With ancient woodland, heathland and ponds, there’s plenty to discover on the reserve’s many walks. Spot Shetland ponies grazing on the rough grass, and look out for woodpeckers, nightingales and other birds and butterflies fluttering past. Dormice, badgers and roe deer also call it home. Langford Heathfield is open to the public all year, and allows dogs on leads. You can park in nearby lay-bys, and the nearby Martlet Inn is a great place to grab a bite. Exeter is well-served with shopping opportunities from big names to small boutiques. There are independent high street shops and the award-winning Princesshay shopping centre is located in the centre of town with a great range of shops...
