Lower Arthurs Cottage is a Grade II listed weavers cottage nestled in the village of Greenfield in Saddleworth, with close links to Manchester and is dog friendly. Unwind in this beautiful Interior Designed spacious house with so many cool features and luxury finishes. From the Super king beds with 800 thread count bedding, sumptuously soft dressing gowns and slippers, to the amazing PRIVATE garden with fire pit and hot tub. No expense has been spared in creating this luxury accommodation. THE MEZZANINE TO THE TOP FLOOR IS NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN UNDER 10, DUE TO THE PADDLE STAIRS. THE MAIN STAIRCASE TO THE FIRST FLOOR IS STEEPER THAN NORMAL WITH LOW HEAD ROOM THIS MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR SOME PEOPLE. ALSO THEY ARE NOT GATED FOR CHILDREN
I am an Interior Designer based in Saddleworth, which is where I have lived all my life apart from being an Art Student. I have been involved in property design for 30 years now and bought Lower Arthurs cottage, which is a listed building, as a project. It was an 18 month project including the kitchen extension and we took it back to brick inside, renewing everything, so I was loathed to sell it afterwards. I decided to finish the house with a full beautiful interior and exterior and keep it as a holiday let. I love how different people from around the country and the world are coming to stay at my house and I love seeing how people are enjoying the area. People also seem to spend a lot of time at the house, not going out as much as I thought they would, because they are enjoying the hot tub and both the indoor and out door spaces. My Interior Design business is called My Secret House, so I called the holiday lets business Secret Houses and we have plans now for more. We hope you enjoy the magic of our Secret House.
Saddleworth is a collection of villages on the edge of The Pennines. It is a rural location with beautiful walks and views, but also has the advantage of a vibrant village life with plenty of cafes, bars, restaurants and shops, with a calendar full of local festivals and events. The cottage is located just 5 minutes walk from the train station, which takes you to Manchester in less than 30 minutes. The cottage has a drive suitable for a couple of vehicles, although currently the kerb has not been dropped yet. Parking in all the villages is free. The cottage is within easy walking distance of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. Buses, taxis and the train are easily accessible. Greenfield train station is just 5 minutes walk, with trains to Manchester, Huddersfield and much more. Manchester Airport is a 40 minutes drive.
