We’re always happy to offer personal tips and local recommendations—whether it’s where to find the best oysters, quiet dog-friendly walks, family-friendly attractions, or nearby places to eat. If there’s ever anything you’re unsure about or need help with—before, during, or even after your stay—we’re just a message away. We pride ourselves on being responsive, friendly, and genuinely happy to help.
Our goal is simple: to make you feel welcome, cared for, and completely at ease. We hope you’ll leave with happy memories and a desire to return again.

Guests love the peaceful, coastal charm of East Mersea Island—an ideal spot for those looking to unwind, explore nature, and enjoy a traditional seaside experience. The area is known for its clean beaches, fresh sea air, and stunning views across the Blackwater Estuary.
One of the most unique features is the tidal causeway, The Strood, which adds a sense of adventure and seclusion as it’s only accessible when the tide is out. Once on the island, guests enjoy being just a short stroll from the beach, perfect for walks, fossil hunting, or simply relaxing by the sea.
Nearby attractions include Cudmore Grove Country Park, loved for its open space, wildlife, and walking trails, and the Mersea Island Museum, which gives a glimpse into the island’s fishing and sailing heritage. History fans will also enjoy visiting St Edmund’s Church, dating back to the 12th century.
Just a short drive away is West Mersea, a lively village offering watersports, colourful beach huts, and one of the best crabbing spots around. The area is also home to the Mersea Island Vineyard and Brewery, where guests can enjoy tastings in a relaxed countryside setting.
Seafood lovers are in for a treat—Mersea is famous for its fresh oysters and local catch. Popular dining spots include The Victory, The Company Shed, and a variety of welcoming pubs and cafés serving everything from hearty meals to fresh seafood with sea views.
Guests appreciate how the area feels peaceful and off the beaten track, yet still offers plenty to do, making it a perfect destination for families, couples, and nature lovers alike.
