Lovely place, the highlight of our trip, wish we could have stayed longer, it was so relaxing. Beautiful place and surroundings. The owners’ two dogs and cat who came to hang out on our doorstep and be cuddled was an extra treat, pure relaxation:)

In a secluded, south-facing hillside setting within the Cambrian Mountains, and surrounded by grazed farmland, Swallow Barn is a beautiful self-contained, newly-converted detached barn with stunning views of the Epynt mountain ridge and the Cerdyn valley. It is possible to sleep up to 5 persons in the property. Not suitable for toddlers and children under 6. The (cottage-style) cosy living room has an AGA wood-burner, 32 inch TV, DVD player, CD/IPOD dock, extending dining table, and comfortable full-size sofa bed. The fully-equipped adjoining kitchen has a large electric Rayburn range, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. A cosy recreation room provides a pool/table tennis table, board games, puzzles and books. There is an additional downstairs toilet. Upstairs, there is one en-suite double bedroom, plus a single bed on the upstairs mezzanine/ large landing area outside the upstairs bedroom. It is therefore possible to sleep a maximum of 5 people in the property. Outside is a covered seating area with glorious views and a gas and charcoal barbecue.
We very much enjoy living in this beautiful part of mid Wales and consider ourselves to be very fortunate to do so. We would hope that staying in Swallow barn will be an enjoyable experience for all our guests, a chance to get away from it all, chill out in your own peaceful little World, snuggle up ( the Welsh call it cwtch) by the logburner or make the most of stretching your legs up a mountain.
There are numerous walks straight from the property, fantastic views, forests, tumbling mountain streams, fresh air and wildlife to be discovered. The property is within walking distance of Llanwrtyd Wells, known as ‘the smallest town in Britain’, and famous for its annual Man v Horse and Bog Snorkelling events. The town boasts various pubs, restaurants, a café, heritage centre, petrol station and garage, grocery store, bus stops and railway station, being one of the many stops along the beautiful Heart of Wales railway line. Access is via a lane off main road A483, half a mile up a new smooth tarmac track...... very secluded as we're the only residents, with sheep for neighbours !
