Martin and Karen have been happily married since 1997. Over the years, they have enjoyed a variety of careers, both together and individully, bringing a wealth of experience to their latest adventure - running The Aberford. In 2025, they moved in to take on this exciting new chapter in their lives.
As passionate hosts, they love welcoming guests from all over the world and making them feel at home. Whether it's recommending the best local spots, sharing the fascinating history of Blackpool, or ensuring your stay is as comfortable as possible, Martin and Karen take great pleasure and pride in offering a warm, personal experience.
In their free time they enjoy coastal walks, classic British seaside culture, and spending time with family and friends. They're always happy to chat and help make your stay unforgettable.
Property information
The Aberford was built in 1871 and is considered to one of the first purpose built hotels in Blackpool. It has a three star Visit England rating. All rooms are ensuite. It is maintained to a high standard and has all the necessary safety certificates (electrics, fire, food hygiene ect) in place. The Aberford is in a prime location and all major attractions, bars, theatres etc can be reached quickly by foot.

The Aberford is situated in the heart of Foxhall Village. The village is the oldest area of Central Blackpool situated opposite Central Pier and although, unlike most villages in England, it doesn't possess a village green it a lively and enjoyable area for Blackpool attractions.
