Situated in the heart of Fife, surrounded by peaceful beaches, lovely coastal walks, 15 fantastic Golf clubs and courses… The Granary is the perfect escape. With the East Neuk and St.Andrews just a short drive or bus away, you have numerous activities, pubs and fabulous restaurants to visit near by. The Granary offers you a very comfortable and cosy stay with all the amenities you could think of. If it’s not there, just ask! We are more than happy to accommodate.
Your host is a caring mum and grandma with a background in hairdressing, dedicated to creating a clean, warm and welcoming experience for every guest. The accommodation is fully private and self-contained, offering peace, comfort, and complete independence throughout your stay. Although the host won’t be present during your visit, everything will be thoughtfully prepared for a relaxing stay, and assistance is just a message away should you need it.
Upper Largo, a charming village nestled at the foot of Largo Law in Fife, offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, historic interest, and coastal charm. Whether you’re after a quiet getaway or an active adventure, the area surrounding Upper Largo is rich with attractions: Largo Law: Towering over the village, this extinct volcanic hill offers a rewarding hike with panoramic views across the Firth of Forth and surrounding countryside. On a clear day, you can even spot Edinburgh’s skyline. Lower Largo: Just down the hill from Upper Largo, this quaint coastal village is famous as the birthplace of Alexander Selkirk, the inspiration for Robinson Crusoe. A statue marks the spot near the harbour. Largo Bay Beach: Stretching along the coast from Lower Largo, this long, sandy beach is ideal for peaceful walks, beachcombing, or even a chilly dip. At low tide, it feels expansive and uncrowded, even in summer. Fife Coastal Path: One of Scotland’s best long-distance walking routes runs through Lower Largo. Head west toward Leven or east toward Elie and enjoy dramatic cliffs, quiet coves, and charming villages along the way. Golf (surrounded by 15 courses): • Lundin Golf Club: One of Fife’s premier golf courses, this traditional links course offers challenging play and stunning sea views. It regularly hosts national competitions and welcomes visitors. • Leven Links Golf Course: Just a short drive away, this historic course dates back to the 1800s and is one of the oldest in the world. It offers a classic links experience with a true test of skill. A few local restaurants: (there are many more!) • Monturpie: home-cooked great food and sweet treats! • The Upper Largo Hotel: Right in the village, this cosy spot offers hearty Scottish food! • The Crusoe: A scenic pub and restaurant right on the harbour, offering fresh seafood, steaks, and fantastic views over the water. • The Peat Inn: Just a short drive, Michelin-starred restaurant.
