Claire and Nigel are the most incredible hosts we have ever met. They helped us with where to buy groceries, where to eat out and how to get around. They really helped us to learn how to help ourselves in England which was exactly what we wanted!...

Claire and Nigel were most accommodating. The house was peaceful and vibrant at the same time, and full of character (a reflection of the energy of the inhabitants). Perfect for a refreshing break. Thank you both for your friendliness. Best...

Cosy eclectic character property full of art, very much home from home in the centre of a lovely village with it's own reservoir. Originally an old grain store, converted in 1912. A kitchen with all the utensils you could want and a wealth of spices to help yourself to. A place to cook as you would when staying with family. There is a spacious dining area you can use and when the weather allows, the garden too. This is very much a home from home place to stay. We have two local pubs you can walk to, a local village cafe, a wonderful local bakery, a village shop which stocks essentials right across the road, a hairdresser, a Chinese takeaway. 8 minutes by car to Haywards Heath and the station which has trains every 10 minutes to London. Lots of wonderful places to visit - whether you want to sail on the reservoir, tour the vineyards, head to London or Brighton. Ardingly College is in the village and The South of England Show Ground is a few minutes walk away. Wakehurst place is 2 minutes by car or a 15 minute walk. If you are flying in - we are close to Gatwick - 20 minutes by car or you can hop on a train in the airport to Haywards Heath and then jump in a cab. We welcome those looking for a longer stay and a home from home while working locally, studying or whatever it might be.
We are lovers or all things creative and the arts. We have been hosting for over 10 years and really enjoy meeting all the very different and fascinating people who stay with us. One of us works in user centred problem solving and research and the other in education. We love to travel and have had a big family (5 children) who have all left home now. We enjoy hosting and love meeting all the new people that stay with us. Some of our guests have stayed over 6 months and one came for 3 weeks and was with us over a year. We will always give you your privacy but happy to chat and share advice any time.
This is a lovely village with reservoir. We are super close to Ardingly College, Wakehurst Place and The South of England Showground. About 20 minutes from Gatwick Airport, an hour or so from Heathrow depending on the traffic. There are two pubs in the village, a Chinese take away, a great bakery, local cafe and a hairdresser. There are a wealth of places to visit and go - from London - an easy trip by train, to Brighton and all the sites, castles, National Trust venues and vineyards in Sussex. Also a wealth of pubs, great coffee hang outs and restaurants. There are busses to Haywards Heath (7 minutes) where the station is. They are not super frequent but they are reliable. You can get almost anywhere from Haywards Heath Station. Several main line stations in London (Victoria, London St Pancras right opposite Kings Cross, London Bridge, Blackfriars, Farringdon, Waterloo. Brighton, wider Sussex and much more.
