Neighbourhood information

The Thatch is a beautiful Grade II listed, Cotswold stone cottage in the highly desirable Westington area of Chipping Campden. Just a short walk away from the High Street in Chipping Campden’s famous and historic Market Town, in the heart of the Cotswolds. The little town of Chipping Campden, regarded by many as the ‘Jewel of the Cotswolds’, is one of the most beautiful places to stay in the UK. Characterised by the honey-coloured Cotswold Stone, there are many thatched cottages, as well as old stone houses in the town that have retained their original look. It is no wonder that Chipping Campden is regarded as one of the most picturesque in the North Cotswold region. Baptist Hicks, a supporter of Charles I also resided in Chipping Campden for a while and invested heavily in the town, funding the iconic Market Hall on the High Street, built in 1627, as well as the Alms Houses opposite St. James Church. Today, you will find a variety of shops, including independent retailers of delicatessens, wine merchant, gifts, florist, fashion, as well as, pubs, restaurants, cafes, gallery’s, an antiques shop and museum of craft and design. Local amenities include 3 Churches, a Library, Pharmacy, Post Office, Hairdressers, Doctor’s Surgery and 2 Dental Practices. Due to its central location in the North Cotswolds, Chipping Campden is the perfect place to stay. Not only is there so much to see and do within this picturesque town, but Chipping Campden is a gateway to the counties of Oxfordshire, Worcestershire and Warwickshire. Situated in the midst of many Places of Interest, National Trust Properties and Tourist Destinations, including, Blenheim Palace, Broadway Tower, Sudeley Castle, Lavender Fields, Warwick Castle, the RSC (Royal Shakespeare Company) and The Malvern Hills, to name but a few, they are all easily accessible an within an hour’s drive...
