Our rooms were once farm buildings, used to incubate chickens. 15 years ago they were converted to rooms, two with beams in the ceilings. Tawny Owl has a king size bed and wet room. Barn Owl has it's own entrance and a settee with Netflix on the TV. Little Owl is a cosy room with en-suite. They have recently had new hard wood floors put in and freshly decorated. We are located in a quiet village 10 mins from Louth and 15mins from Cadwell Park. There is a shop, restaurant and take away in the next village (Grimoldby)
We look forward to meeting new guests and regulars alike. We enjoy ballroom, sequence and jive dancing. The lady of the house is a keen flower gardener and the man of the house takes care of the lawn & vegetable gardens. There are a large number of pots around the property, with bedding outs, shrubs and hostas.
South Cockerington is a quiet village, a short 10minute drive from Louth. Where there are a number of independent shops. Our village does not offer any facilities, the nearest shop, restaurant and takeaway is in the next village at Grimoldby. We do have a 14th Century Church with a Norman tower. The church contains a fifteenth century rood screen and a white alabaster sculpture of Sir Adrian Scrope. The Scrope family were favourites with royalty and are even mentioned in three Shakespeare plays; Henry V, Richard II and Henry IV. The coast is 5 miles east; there are quiet beaches at Donna Nook, Saltfleet Haven, Rimac Nature Reserve, Thedlethorpe and Huttoft Bank. A lovely viewing point and cafe at Anderby Creek. There is more to do at Cleethorpes, Mablethorpe, Sutton on sea and Skegness. Gibraltar Point near Skegness is a nature reserve also with a nice cafe. The National Trust property Gunby Hall is well worth a visit.
