Beer is a picturesque seaside village facing Lyme Bay and is a little over 1 mile west of the town of Seaton. It is situated on the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site and its picturesque cliffs, including Beer Head, form part of the South West Coast Path. Join a guided tour in the Beer Quarry Caves. Take a ride on the Pecorama Railway through award-winning gardens with beautiful sea views, or take a 4 mile moderate ramble along the South West Coast Path through the Hooken Cliffs.
Just 1.5 miles from Beer, you will find the Seaside town of Seaton, a fishing harbour and civil parish in East Devon on the south coast of England, between Axmouth and Beer. Facing onto Lyme Bay, Seaton is perfectly accessible to explore the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. A sea wall provides access to the mostly shingle beach stretching for about a mile, and a small harbour, located mainly in the Axmouth area.
Close by there are a handful of highly recommended places to eat, in Beer, you will find The Smugglers Kitchen, offering homemade pizza, meat and seafood, Le Pisani, a popular Italian Restaurant in Seaton, The Monsoon, offering mouth-watering Indian dishes or why not head to Lyme Bay Winery to try their award-winning wines. For those wishing to travel further afield, The Hare & Hounds in Sidbury serves a wonderful home cooked carvery, The Holt, a very popular Inn in Honiton, serving home cooked food with a creative twist, and finally The Pig, serving a delicious 25-mile menu, with gorgeous kitchen gardens set in a traditional country hotel.
The nearest beaches only a 10-15 minute walk away, inclusive of Beer and Branscombe, however if you're open to driving for your beach day, be sure to visit Seaton, Sidmouth, Lyme Regis and Charmouth beaches.
