Mortara Cottage is where my mother was born and in 2020 my husband and I finished renovating it. We wanted to keep the cottage look while still making it warm and cosy. The cottage sits on a quiet country road and is surrounded by gardens.The dawn chorus in the morning is beautiful and you can walk right to waters edge .
We are so happy here in Mortara and hope our guests get to enjoy the peace and quiet of our cottage and surrounding countryside. We enjoy meeting our guests and are always free to answer any questions or advise about where to visit.
The nearest village is Ballylongford about 3 kilometres away, its a lovely quaint place with pubs, takeaways and good supermarkets with a deli and off licence. There is also a new coffee shop just open .We are only 1 kilometre away from the banks of the river shannon, with Carrigafoyle castle and Carrig Island ,a must to stroll around. We have an abundance of beautiful beaches in the area and, of course, about 10 kilometres away from the world famous Ballybunion golf club and seaside town. We are an ideal location to visit the Ring of kerry and the cliffs of Moher, the burren and Clare coast.
