The cottage was very roomy and homey with a generous supply of kitchen utensils. The continental breakfast provided was a good start to the day. The hosts had sent very detailed instructions to help find the location and get in to the cottage.

Pretend you are lost in a magical forest while enjoying a nice coffee or a glass of wine. Soak up the atmosphere, then fall asleep in a heavenly bedroom while listening to the birds singing outside your window. And when you wake up, the coffee machine awaits. Listen to the birds sing while you enjoy your continental breakfast provided and if you prefer a cup of tea instead of coffee, it is also provided compliments of your host. This is a small but relaxing space, on a nice day you can sit out on the patio. If you sit inside with the door open it can be very relaxing as at times you will hear the birds singing while looking across the patio and the green of the countryside. If you want to be within walking distance of the bars and restaurants this is not the location for you. However if you want to experience the golden vales of Tipperary it is the ideal spot (The Golden Vale is the historic name given to an area of rolling pastureland in the province of Munster in southwestern Ireland). St Declan's way is the road behind our property and the walk starts at the rock of Cashel which is just 7 minutes drive from our property. The trail begins at the car-park of the Rock of Cashel passing through Cashel, Cahir, Ardfinnan & Goatenbridge in South Tipperary. It then crosses the Knockmealdown Mountains into West Waterford going through Mount Melleray, Lismore, Cappoquin, Aglish and finishing at St. Declan’s Monastery in Ardmore, Co. Waterford.
We offer a complimentary continental breakfast in the morning, which includes a variety of items to help you start your day off right. We will leave milk, orange juice, mixed fruit, spreadable butter, marmalade, strawberry jam, and bottled water in the fridge for you. In the cupboard, we will leave cornflakes, muesli, bread rolls, pastry, and some honey. You will also find fresh fruit in a bowl. You have tea bags, a mixture of coffee pods, sugar, a kettle, a coffee machine, and a toaster. Microwave available (NO COOKING FACILITIES AS PROPERTY IS TOO SMALL) You have a radio in the living area, no television. If you have any preferences for a continental breakfast, do let us know. Free Wi-Fi access throughout the building, it can be affected from time to time by the weather. The internet would not be up to the standard you would get in a major town.
Our home is only 2 minutes from exit 9 off M8 Motorway which is only 90 mins from Newlands Cross Dublin and 2 hours from Dublin city centre and 110 minutes from Dublin Airport. Only one hour from Cork Airport. Only 13 minutes from Cahir Castle (Films such as Excalibur (1981), The Green Knight (2021), The Last Duel (2021), Barry Lyndon (1975), etc. Only 21 minutes from Mitchelstown Caves, one of the most spectacular caves in Europe. Only 3 minutes drive and 36 minutes walk from Rockwell College, Only 9 Minutes drive from the rock of Cashel and 5 minutes from Cashel Town centre (47 minutes walk). Only 19 minutes drive from the famous Holy Cross Abbey which is also a lovely village to visit. We are based on the R639 which is the road from Cashel to Cahir, you can drive from Cashel on the R639, pass through the village of New Inn and into Cahir Town in 16 minutes which is a nice country road. If you like a nice brisk walk you can go out our gate, turn right, get to the roundabout turn right again, you will now be on the road parallel to the R639, ho to the end of that road and turn right again and follow that road to the cross roads, turn right onto the R639 and back to your base in one hour...a lovely country walk. Cashel is reputed to be the site of the conversion of the King of Munster by Saint Patrick in the 5th century. The Rock of Cashel was the traditional seat of the kings of Munster for several hundred years prior to the Norman invasion. In 1101, the King of Munster, Muirchertach Ua Briain, donated his fortress on the Rock to the Church. The picturesque complex has a character of its own and is one of the most remarkable collections of Celtic art and medieval architecture to be found anywhere in Europe.
