A serene family home cradled by coconut palms, areca palms, fruit-bearing trees and lush greenery with sweeping rooftop views of the Guwahati hinterland stretching all the way to the enigmatic foothills of Meghalaya. A soft breeze billows the window curtains while thunderstorms brew in the far-off hills. Birds sing sweet melodies in the trees during the day while fireflies enchant it at night. The house has a rustic charm yet is equipped with all the conveniences you need to enjoy your stay.
You will notice that Guwahati's greenery is dominanted by the slender betel palms, which gives it the modern name 'Guwahati' i.e 'market of betel nuts'. The old name of Guwahati is Pragjyotispura, which means ‘the light of the east’. Guwahati is the gateway to northeast and has some of the best tourists attactions of Northeast India, it is also a good base from which to plan your journey into the enchanting hills, plains and forests.
Assam is one of the eight states that comprise the region of northeast India. The region includes the states of Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura and Meghalaya. Each of these states is beautiful in it’s own unique way.
Hello there,
My name is Jili M Ryan. I am an Indian and a native of upper Assam but my family moved to city of Guwahati in lower Assam roughly 20 years ago. Growing up in one of the most beautiful and pristine parts of India, I naturally developed a love for nature and wildlife. I am very passionate about travelling & creative writing and so to keep my passions alive I travel to places where I can immerse myself in a different culture, witness new landscapes, meet new people and undertake novel adventures.
I like offbeat, untrodden, uncharted places and I am so glad that Northeast India has so many hidden gems and relatively unexplored places that I can stay busy for the rest of my life exploring, learning and unlearning.
Heartiest welcome to our guest house. I and my team will do everything in our power to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I have a lot of experience living and travelling in this region and I can tell you the best things to do, the best places to eat, the best ways to get around etc.
Looking forward to hosting you in Blissful Eyrie. I am the co-founder of adventure and budget travel blog at 'Twobirdsbreakingfree' do check it out. Cheers!
The property is located in a relatively laid-back part of the city, a safe distance away from the chaotic G.S road and core area of Guwahati, though you can easily get to these places by Uber, auto rickshaw or minivan/bus combination if you wish.
The property is adjacent to Hills View, a safe and peaceful residential area that is relatively affluent compared to surrounding areas. Our neighbours are all very congenial and amicable. Although just a stone’s throw away from the fairly busy VIP road, Hills View feels like a world apart due to its elevated position on higher ground and also because of the neighbourhood's mantle of lush greenery that blocks out all the noise, dust and pollution from the road.
There is a well-stocked, air-conditioned, departmental store (mini-mart) called Easy Mart just a 5 minute walk from the house and several top-rated ethnic restaurants are just a short ride away.
