Each lovely, spacious bedroom in Serenity House has breathtaking views of the Hermitage of Greccio Sanctuary, the Rieti valley and the mountains beyond. From Serenity House B&B, guests can stroll to the town of Greccio, known for its restaurants and Christmas market. In the other direction, it’s just another short walk to the Hermitage of Greccio Sanctuary, one of the four shrines erected by St. Francis of Assisi in the Sacred Valley. It is here that in 1271, St. Francis made the first nativity scene – presepio in Italian – one of the great art forms of southern Italy. A scenic 20-minute drive away, the beautiful Cascata delle Marmore and the lake of Piediluco await exploration.
