Surrounded by lush gardens, a serene pond, yoga pavilion and a large pool with a dedicated children’s pool, Villa Samithru is not just a place to stay, but a sanctuary where families, couples and groups can gather, reflect and celebrate life’s moments.
As a retired doctor, my heart has always been close to nature. For him, this villa is more than a home it is a reflection of his lifelong love for tranquillity, culture and the beauty of Sri Lanka’s landscapes. I wish to share this sanctuary with others and offer you not just accommodation, but an experience that nurtures peace, connection and joy. Located in Wadduwa, in the Kalutara District, Villa Sumithru is less than an hour from Colombo yet feels a world apart. This peaceful coastal town is known for its quiet beaches and cultural landmarks. Just five minutes from the villa, Wadduwa Beach offers golden sands and gentle waves, perfect for evening strolls. A fifteen minute drive takes you to the Kalutara Temple, a revered Buddhist site where history and spirituality converge. Within thirty minutes, you can visit the magnificent Richmond Castle, a century old mansion with Indo Saracenic architecture and sprawling gardens. Wadduwa is also surrounded by coconut plantations, fishing villages, local cafes, restaurants and vibrant local markets, giving guests a glimpse of authentic Sri Lankan life.
