Property information

The Summit Lodge is located in Gladstone, Wairarapa, a beautiful part of New Zealand. We enjoy fresh country air and unpolluted night skies - guests are often in awe of the stars they can see! We provide the luxury of a boutique hotel but the hospitality of a home stay. Our property features many sustainability features - eg solar power, rain collection, our own waste water system, water and power conservation processes. We have 2 acres of garden, much of which is New Zealand natives and we also have a variety of friendly animals - chickens and alpacas.

Neighbourhood information

Gladstone is rural and is a mixture of farming (sheep and dairy mainly) and vineyards. There is little ambient light so the night skies are stunning and the air clean. We rely on rainwater - no town supply so all our water is chemical free. We are approx 15 mins drive away from 3 small town centres - Carterton, Masterton and Greytown. There is the fabulous Gladstone Country Inn just a few minutes drive away. In the area is also Stone Henge Aotearoa, The Vintage Aviation Collection, Paua World and a range of beautiful walks. Pukaha Mount Bruce and Castlepoint are both within 40-60 mins drive away and there are a number of wonderful wineries renowned for Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc, with other varieties to suit your palate.
