Titiwai is an architecturally designed recent build completely surrounded by native bush as it is set in a 50 hectare working conservation estate. The home has a stunning island sea view and is extremely quiet. The home has many features made by the owner and also local artists and craftspeople. There are abundant native birds and bush tracks as well as glow worms and fresh water springs on the property.
Fi has hosted guests for many years and has embellished this home with artworks she has created herself from paintings to large woven sculptures and lightshades.
Matata has 10 km of gorgeous beach. The Matata pub garden bar is a great place to meet locals. The crystal clear blue waters of the Tarawera falls and outlet are 40 minutes away near Kawerau and a "must see". Braemar fresh water springs are 7km down the road. Awakeri hot springs are 14 kms drive.
