We decided to stay at Arenal Observatory Lodge by the photos, reviews and mainly by its location away from the roads and closer to the Arenal volcano and, after staying there, we now realized that we’ve made the perfect choice. Once you arrive there, you just notice that you’re surrounded by magnificent gardens and you have at your disposal several trails through those gardens and across the rain forest. The swimming pool and jacuzzi it’s a very pleasant addition to the property. The team was very professional and friendly; the restaurant was really good and the food was nice with plenty of options in the menu; all the space and surroundings is well kept and clean. We’ve made the guided night tour and we loved it. Besides that, we’ve made some of the trails and enjoyed it a lot. Our room was one of those facing the Arenal volcano with a wide window directly to a balcony from where we can enjoy the peaceful forest and the view of the volcano. The room was large and the bathroom had a lot of space. The rooms doesn’t have TV set and no AC is available, but they have a ceiling fan that is more than enough for you to get refreshed by its breeze. It was the perfect room. The breakfast had plenty of buffet options besides the menu choice and everything was really good. A can say, definitely, that, if I’ll travel again to the Arenal region, I’ll stay in the Arenal Observatory Lodge again!

Everything about this boutique hotel was fantastic. The staff and customer service were exceptional. The location, and grounds and free little night frog tour in their sanctuary, the delicious breakfast all made the stay memorable. The rooms was clean and sufficient. A bit small but there are larger ones. loved the outdoor shower.

This hotel property is absolutely stunning. The balcony in room 25 looked right out to the volcano and each morning we'd see varieties of birds, rainbow and yellow toucans included. We even heard the roars of howler monkeys!

Super friendly staff who explained all about the property. Very clean and romantic bungalows with a lot of privacy and a-m-a-z-i-n-g views. Breakfast was with a voucher at a restaurant on the same road and was superb. I got us fed for the whole day hiking! One of the best properties ever during all our travels!

    Location was beautiful. We had room right next to road which was noisy. I would recommend silicone ear plugs or stay in one of the tents or at back of property . Property had great walks , garden, wildlife and spa. Offered much more than I remembered. Food was exceptional was farm to table. Was soooo relaxing ♥️

    We had the most wonderful time here. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and given really useful information about the area. The hotel arranged an amazing pony trek to a waterfall for us and my husband had the best massage he has ever had. We enjoyed the spa facilities and the jacuzzi must have the best view from a jacuzzi in the world. The food was excellent - every night was a different theme and we enjoyed Peruvian, Indian and oriental evenings. The breakfasts are to die for.

    Very relaxed accommodation with a beautiful view on the vulcano. The staff was very kind and the accommodation area very nice. You could make use of the spa, the pool, the yoga classes and walk through the beautiful garden. Activities around La Fortuna were very reachable (we travelled by car). And we saw a lot of coatis on our way to the accommodation.
