This is such a great hotel, I can’t say enough good things. The room was very comfortable (amazing bed!) and the balcony was big with a lovely view of the mountains. The location was great, an easy walk to many of the sights in Tirana and if not, a relatively short cab ride away. The wifi worked well and had decent speed, I never noticed any issues trying to do anything online. The staff were excellent- the hotel restaurant didn’t seem to be fully open during my stay but the staff were able to recommend excellent restaurants nearby. They (the staff) were very responsive and helpful and always greeted you with a friendly hello and smile- obviously not a necessity but made you feel very welcomed. In my month in Europe and the Balkans, this hotel was a stand out highlight. It’s also very well located if you plan to do day trips out of the city- I was able to be picked up right at the hotel which is a bonus in my opinion.

The staff were amazing, especially Kristela at the reception was very helpful and kind to all of us as we came with our friends and booked 3 rooms. She made sure our experience at the hotel was the best, I can easily say Maritim Hotel Plaza is the best in Tirana.

Very helpful and polite staff, fast responding to emails, offering services/help/assistance in the hotel, willing to give you free upgrade of room if they have one available. Arranging transfer from and to airport (35 euros in total, that is reasonable price)... even longer waiting for their guests at the airport if your flight is delayed is not a problem for them. Breakfast at the rooftop bar.

    Definitely walk up to the top! But also walk around inside. There is a wonderful gift shop in there we nearly missed which sells handcrafts of Albania, including silver filigree, things made of olive wood, gorgeous cutting boards, raki, textiles, and other treasures to take home.

    The monstrosity of the Pyramid is being "re-purposed"- there...

    The monstrosity of the Pyramid is being "re-purposed"- there is extremely few glimpses of it through the construction netting. However the obscuring cloth wall has great graphics of the architect's and municipal plans for this wretched Hoxha abomination. I look forward to seeing it again when the renovations are completed.
