City Park
Slap bang in the middle of Launceston, this botanic beauty encloses patches of floral masterpieces, which bloom with colour in autumn and spring. Wander past landmarks like an over-sized chessboard, monument and an ornate Victorian drinking fountain. Perhaps the quirkiest feature of the park is its collection of Macaque monkeys, who can be observed between 08:30 and 16:30 each day.

Absolutely beautiful park.
Absolutely beautiful park. Unfortunately some buildings were under renovation when we were there and we couldn't visit but they were still interesting to look at. The Macaque Monkey enclosure is a delight. Baby ducklings tootling around the pond were cute. Make sure you visit the Radio Museum and ask to see the 170 year old Wisteria, It was in glorious flower whilst we were there in early October. The Volunteers are dedicated and a joy to talk to. Everything was provided incl kitchenware & washer/dryer plus the bath towels were super soft. It was very quiet at any time of the day with minimal noise.
