Lots of people trying to get you to spend your money! They really try to push you to buy things here. Make sure you pay at least half price that they ask! If you don’t like pushy sale methods, like constant chasing and pastoring it’s not the place for you. If you can handle that, it can be fun. But I found it very much touristy l! We won’t go again. My room had a good view, was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good, a table being allocated for me. Dinner at the restaurant was tasty. The location of the hotel is good for the 'old town', shopping, and visiting Yu gardens (though note it is closed on Mondays, and otherwise has a fee to pay), the local park where there were tai chi lessons going on, and the bund. It’s also a short walk to the Bund, is in a secure building , and has laundry facilities.
