We had a wonderful stay at the H Boutique Hotel in Bakewell. The staff was absolutely lovely — attentive, kind, and always willing to help so we could explore the area with peace of mind. A special thank you to David, who was incredibly kind — it was a real pleasure to have such a nice conversation with him. We highly recommend this hotel and can’t wait to come back!

House is top heavy with stuff but the gardens are nice and even better the rolling acres around which are free to walk more or less and don't cost anything Have just remembered the children's adventure playground which is really fabulous, worth the entry fee and very adventurous indeed so not for the faint hearted but for older children who want a challenge. Well done Chatsworth

    DO NOT just turn up.

DO NOT just turn up. The car park is £7.50 and the attendants will NOT tell you that it is free if you pre book. They will simply take your money and only afterwards will you find out that it would have been free if you'd parked up before the gate and pre booked.

Staff were exceptional: especially Steve as well as Matthew Julia/Juliette, Bethany and Charlotte. Well informed, passionate and sharing. I have never understood why the House, its collection and gardens are always rated as Britain's best. I have been often and too many others in the British Isles But the Chatsworth staff: absolutely. Thank you all.

Take your time to walk around the estate, it is beautiful. The forest is gorgeous and I was lucky enough to do my Forest School training here. Chatsworth house and grounds are a treat too. A must do on all accounts and you are bound to get some beautiful time in nature and great photos.

Beautiful cottage in the Derbyshire countryside. Close to Chatsworth house and Bakewell. Very cosy yet also very modern. Also, the homemade cakes are the finest I’ve ever tasted. As is the breakfast. Hands down the best food we’ve ever had at any b&b anywhere. We will definitely keep returning. Thank you for a short but very sweet stay.

Best suited for walkers. The location was excellent, the elevated position of the property gave great views and access across to Chatsworth House and the hills all round. The private terrace was a lovely relaxing area, getting the sun most of the day. Our hosts were very friendly and apologetic for the inconvenience, gave us a bottle of wine and offer of a reduced price if we booked again.

The apartment has designated parking right outside the door (ideal for children and luggage!) - it was very easy to check in. It is perfectly located for Chatsworth House (we drove as knew we would have a long day at the House and Gardens but believe the walk is doable). The pub opposite is excellent (recommend booking if a weekend) and there is an excellent Co-op a short walk from the property. Characterful, clean and comfortable. Perfect for our stay.

The location was excellent as we were attending the Chatsworth Country Fayre and within walking distance of Chatsworth House. We were in the downstairs front apartment which was really nice as it overlooked the front garden. The bed was very comfortable and plenty of storage space for clothes.
