Everything! Used to be an old hunting lodge, and Steve and Tracy have transformed it into a fabulous Inn. Beautiful rooms, very clean, super comfortable-best “sleep” of our entire trip, great breakfast! They were professional, but also treated us like old friends while we hung out with them in their very own bar that one evening. Reminded us of what B and B’s USED to be like back in the day.

Jen & Simon are the lovely couple who run this hotel, they were kind and inviting & clearly wanting our stay to be good. The building is well maintained the rooms are beautiful with great beds & lovely bedding. Each are upgraded and nice in size with ensuite. The breakfast was good in a beautiful glass enclosed area looking into the private yard. They went out of their way to accomodate us and it was appreciated. There are stairs but Simon happily gave us a hand with the luggage. We enjoyed our time there and would definetly return if in this area again.

Take the battlefield tour (weather permitting) its worth tramping around the site to hear the real stories of the battle and how it played out on the day. This is dog friendly. The visitor is excellent, and the cafe (though pricy) is really good

If you are visiting Culloden Battlefield and its museum take the opportunity to join the guided tour to the actual battlefield! It is actually "just" a field of grass and bushes with 2 lines of flagg poles representing where the Scottish and English troops were lined up. So actually not so much to see but the tour guide was such an amazing and paisonate story teller that you realy could imagine traveling back in time and witnessing the battle. She understood to involve at same time children and adults - this was the most interesting and entertaining guided tour I ever joined. The museum is of course also very interesting and you can read/see there all the historic information and dates, but if you hear a lady calling for a tour to the battlefield - follow her to the outside - it is really worth it.

It was a wonderful experience but I found that 90 minutes I had allotted for it were totally insufficient. One needs at least half a day to get the full history, the sights and the walk. Unless one has arrived in one's car, it is difficult to find transport (taxi) to Inverness. The Visitor's Centre will call a taxi for you

Do the guided tour. My guide was a young student who was both pasionate and informative. He bought the battle to life and into focus. I walked around the site again after the tour and was trully moved.

Amazing experience brought to life by the enthusiasm of the tour guide who showed us around. My solo wander across the battlefield later, added to the atmosphere understanding of the sheer scale of the site and awful conditions the men had to try to fight in. The exhibits in the museum added greatly to the whole experience. Also, heartily recommend visiting Clava Cairns, just 1.5 miles from Culloden.

Great museum layout and it was very moving to walk the battlefield after learning about what led to the battle there. They also have a fabulous cafeteria with hot items to stay and enjoy, or quick takeaway items. We loved the coronation sandwich!

Emma and Joseph were wonderful hosts. Emma greeted us and gave us a tour of the B&B. She and Joseph made a wonderful breakfast each day. The B&B is in the country right next to the Culloden Battlefield and a short drive to Inverness. The breakfast venue has a great view of the Culloden Viaduct. The B&B is wonderfully peaceful and well worth a visit. The minimum stay is 2 days but there is plenty to do in Inverness.

Ranald was a fantatic host. Let us drop our bags early morning so we could go exploring and check in afterwards. Spotless room. Amazing "Big Boy Breakfast" - Ranald will even let you order eggs cooked "wrong". How all B&Bs should look and be operated. Easy taxi to Culloden battlefield and Fort George.

Location is fantastic. Easy to get to the Culloden Battlefield and the Cairn Stones. Free Parking at hotel was so nice! Close to downtown, even walkable. Dinner Food from restaurant was great and dinning staff gave excellent service. Manager was very friendly and easy to talk to. He also upgraded our room. Check in was easy and the staff offered to take our luggage up the steps (no elevator) and help bring it down when we checked out.

I wish we'd had more time in the neighborhood, as we were told there are highland cows nearby and nice walking areas.

Nice continental breakfast although I only had time for coffee and a muffin. The room looked exactly as described, and it was clean and neat. It was small, but had everything I needed. Glen (the host)who on the day of my departure ordered a taxi for me and arrived within 10 minutes. Also, I was concerned about what to do with my luggage while I explored the Culloden battlefield, and he graciously offered to hold it for me until I returned. I appreciated it immensely, thank you, Glenn.
