This hotel is really a hidden gem. I do admit that we found it by chance, and this sure was one lucky chance. Great hotel in an old building. The people working there, more or less made us feel more like family than guests, without in any way being invasive. They always had time for a little chat, and very politely suggesting things to see, and places to eat. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Isle of Wight.

They have great events - I came to the House specifically for Victoria's Day Out Event, it was great fun, so pleased we panned on being here for the whole day. You need a good four hours to do everything when there is not an event on. Well worth the entrance fee so much to see and do.

    Well worth a visit.

Well worth a visit. Free entry if you are a member of English Heritage. We visited the house and walled garden, had lunch in the terrace cafe, walked to the beach, had a snooze in the deckchairs 🌞😎, walked to the Swiss cottage, museum and gardens, then made our way back to the shop and car park. Remember to wear sensible footwear as it is over 1km to the beach although there are shuttle buses.

Most of the house was closed, so a very short trip!

Most of the house was closed, so a very short trip! It was also raining the day we went, so we didn't get to see all the grounds. A lot of money for not much to see. Make sure you go on a dry day, so you can walk the grounds!

    Beautiful gardens.

Beautiful gardens. The weather was horrific and so we couldn't spend much time out of doors - though the gardens looked splendid. Much of the house was out of bounds due to Covid-19 (lots of fabric), but it was still fabulous to see what we did.
